GQ seeks a Global Creative Director to guide the visual identity of the brand across all platforms. Reporting to the Global Editorial Director, this role oversees photography and design teams for GQ U.S. and provides guidance to international editions. Responsibilities include: overseeing creative direction globally and elevating GQ's visual presence across print, digital, video, social, and brand extensions; creative directing a global team of visuals editors, designers, producers, and photo researchers; collaborating with editors, social team, and video staff to create compelling visual narratives; maintaining relationships with photographers, directors, and industry professionals; leveraging creative assets to showcase journalism across platforms; conceptualizing and overseeing cover shoots and talent-related stories; creating innovative design standards and visual identity systems; managing production workflow, schedules, and budgets; providing clear creative direction and feedback; streamlining visual identity across marketing materials; and maintaining brand identity across live events, podcasts, films, and other extensions.
Requirements:
• 10+ years in a creative role
• Strong management experience and ability to lead teams effectively
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design and visuals skills across print editorial, video, social, digital, and brand work
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Strong diplomacy skills as intermediary between creative, editorial, and other stakeholders
• Proactive approach to ensuring best brand representation and team inclusion
