The Princess and the Pea - Casting Call

Upswing, a leading UK circus company, is casting two performers for The Princess and the Pea, a non-verbal circus theatre piece for children with an ensemble of four. The show runs for 50 minutes and will be performed at the Southbank Centre in London during Easter 2027.

The Princess: A very physical role requiring strong acrobatic or gymnastic skills (parkour, trampolining, cheer, or stunt training beneficial). You'll perform light partner acrobatics and trampette work, requiring playfulness, engagement, and physical comedy skills.

The Blue Servant: A physical acting role requiring slapstick and physical comedy skills. Acrobatic skill and trampette experience advantageous. Must be playful, engaging, and a strong team player.

Both roles involve lifting and stacking small mattresses. Both require a collaborative team player with a positive attitude and mutual trust with cast members.

Dates: Rehearsal 8-12 March, Rehearsal & Tech 24-29 March, Performances 30 March - 4 April 2027.

Applications welcome from UK and international artists. Submit headshot, showreel/work links, and CV to recruitment@upswing.org.uk with role in subject line. Rolling auditions by invitation.
