Soyulla
Voice Teacher with Guitar or Piano Background
Founded in 2001, Soyulla is a boutique music management organization connecting exceptional teaching artists with students throughout NYC, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
We are expanding our roster and seeking talented voice teachers with a strong guitar or piano background to teach private lessons throughout NYC and the boroughs.
We especially value teachers who genuinely enjoy working with young children, including students as young as 5 years old, and have experience teaching this age group. We're looking for warm, engaging instructors who can make lessons fun, build confidence, and inspire young students to develop a lifelong love of music, while also working effectively with students of all ages and levels.
Compensation is competitive and varies across our divisions. In addition to private lessons, selected artists may have access to after-school teaching opportunities through Soyulla Center Stage and live performance opportunities through our Soyulla Stars Division. Rates start at $85/hr and range up to $200/hr, depending on division, experience, responsibilities, and engagement type, with additional commute compensation provided.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to teach in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Ability to teach in Jersey City is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field, with a focus on voice (Master of Music degree a plus).
- Professional-level vocal performance experience.
- Minimum of five years of private studio teaching experience.
- Experience teaching and a genuine enjoyment of working with young children, including those as young as 5 years old.
- Ability to teach students of all ages, from young children through adults and seniors.
- Strong piano or guitar skills are a major plus.
- Versatility across multiple genres, including classical, musical theater, and pop.
- A strong commitment to mentorship and student growth, with the ability to make lessons fun, exciting, and inspiring, especially for younger students.
- Warm, patient, and engaging teaching style, with excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
To Apply: Please email resume, short professional bio, and audio/video samples of your performance to music@soyulla.com. Selected candidates will be contacted for an interview and audition.
