Short-Form Video Editor

Five Elements is looking for a skilled Short-Form Video Editor who can create engaging, visually compelling content for Reels, Shorts, and other social platforms. The ideal candidate has strong editing and motion graphics skills, a sharp understanding of social media trends, and an excellent eye for pacing, storytelling, typography, and visual composition.

Responsibilities:
- Edit short-form videos for Reels, Shorts, and social-first content
- Create engaging motion graphics, text animations, transitions, and graphic elements
- Shape raw footage and stock assets into compelling visual stories
- Develop strong hooks, pacing, and visual rhythm to maximise audience retention
- Source and curate relevant stock footage when required
- Add music, sound design, captions, and other elements to enhance storytelling
- Maintain strong visual consistency across branded content
- Stay updated with social media trends, editing styles, formats, and audience behaviours
- Manage multiple projects efficiently while meeting quick turnaround times
- Collaborate with the creative team to develop and execute content concepts

Requirements:
- Strong experience in short-form video editing for social media
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects (must-have)
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
- Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, composition, typography, and visual rhythm
- Ability to create engaging motion graphics and animations
- Good understanding of social media hooks, trends, and audience retention
- Comfortable working with both raw footage and stock assets
- Strong understanding of music, sound design, captions, and their role in short-form content
- Fast, detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable working with quick turnarounds
- Strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating relevant work

Nice to Have:
- Proficiency in CapCut or DaVinci Resolve
- 2D animation skills
- 3D animation or Blender experience
- Colour grading and sound design skills
- Experience creating social-first branded content
