Declaring your country

Updated This content is in English — use your browser’s translate feature to read it in your language.

After you accept the terms, the platform asks one question: where are you based? Pick your country and continue. It takes one click, and it is asked once.

Why we ask

Your declared country is the one account-level fact the platform uses to tailor defaults to where you are. It is your own choice that counts: we may pre-select a country from your connection, but you can pick a different one, and you can change it any time under Country on your profile at /settings/profile/.

What it does not do

The declared country never decides what you are allowed to do. It does not restrict features, payment methods, or checkout. Purchases are governed separately by where purchasing is available, and the payment provider runs its own checks at checkout.

If purchases are not available in your country yet

Everything else works as usual. You will see a short notice offering to notify you when purchases launch in your country. Opting in stores no country of its own, so if you move and change your declared country, the notification follows you. You can withdraw the opt-in from the same banner on the pricing page.

Profile country versus declared country

The country on a portfolio or Talent Database profile describes where someone presents themselves professionally and is free text. The declared country is an account fact. Changing one never changes the other.
