Email codes and resetting your password

Updated This content is in English — use your browser’s translate feature to read it in your language.

Two account steps work with a short code from your inbox instead of a link: confirming your email address and resetting your password.

Confirming your email

After you sign up, we send a six-character code. Enter it on the Enter your code page and choose Confirm email. Your account is active straight away.

  • The code is valid for 15 minutes.
  • Send a new code sends a fresh one if the first did not arrive. You can do this twice.
  • After three wrong entries the attempt is cancelled, and you start again from signup or login.

Resetting your password

Choose Forgot password on the login page and enter your email. If the address belongs to an account, we send an eight-character code. Enter it on the Enter your reset code page, choose Continue, and set your new password.

  • The reset code is valid for 15 minutes.
  • After three wrong entries it stops working. Request a new code instead.
  • If no account uses that address, you get an email saying so rather than a code.

Tips

  • Capital letters and spaces do not matter when you type a code.
  • A code only works in the browser or app window that asked for it. Enter it there, not in a new tab or on another device.
  • Check your spam folder if nothing arrives within a minute or two.
  • Links in emails sent before codes were introduced still work.

If you signed up with Google, Apple, or Microsoft, you do not need a password reset. Use the matching Log in with button.
