Your Job Finder search profile

Job Finder does not guess from scratch on every run. It searches from one search profile that you build once and check yourself. That profile is the whole input to every search — manual, daily, or weekly — and runs never change it behind your back.

Where it comes from

The profile is built from the source you choose in the Job Finder & Client Finder section of Workspace Files: your portfolio, your workspace files, or both. The chips at the top of the profile card show your preference and what the profile was built from; the pencil takes you to that setting.

Building it

On your Dashboard, open Job Finder and choose Build my search profile. Your first build is free. The profile is read from your source, and then Here is what we found opens so you can check it. Sometimes it asks a few questions, step by step. Nothing is saved until you choose Use this profile.

If the automatic build does not work, you can fill the profile in by hand.

What is in it

• What you do — your roles and the words that describe the work, comma-separated. Your discipline is worked out from this.
• Additional keywords — work close enough that you would take the job. Job Finder only widens to these when your own roles come back empty.
• How far should we look? — Around my city, These places only, Across Europe, Worldwide, or Remote only.
• Locations — the places to search, unless you chose Worldwide or Remote only.
• Your level — Emerging, Professional, or Senior / lead.
• Websites to Watch — up to five pages you already check for gigs, such as a casting board or a venue network. They are scanned directly on every search. A link to a public group page works too.

The card also lists terms the build decided to leave out of the search.

Editing and rebuilding

Edit opens the fields above; Save profile keeps your changes. Editing is free. Rebuild reads your source again from scratch — use it after a big portfolio update. A rebuild costs pens, shown on the button, and a failed rebuild is refunded.

When a search cannot run yet

If something is missing, the card says Your search cannot run yet — still needed: and names it, for example what you do, additional keywords, how far to look, where, or your level. A search needs at least three distinct search words across your roles and additional keywords; the card asks you to add a few when it has too few. Search Now refuses to start with the same message, before any pens are taken.

Widening when results dry up

When your last two runs brought nothing new, the card says Nothing new for a while and offers one-click changes: look across Europe or worldwide, or include your additional keywords in the search. Leave it keeps everything as it is.

Automatic search needs it too

Automatic Search can only be switched on once the profile is complete, because every scheduled run uses it.
