How Talent Finder works

Talent Finder at /talent-finder/ — Talent → Finder in the header — is how you meet people you do not already know. You describe who you are looking for in ordinary language, and it goes and finds candidates. It is marked Beta: results and behaviour may still change as we improve it.

Every discipline

It is not limited to one field. Musicians, bands, DJs, singers, actors, dancers, acrobats, photographers, videographers, models, stylists, technical creatives — all of it. If you can describe the person, you can search for them.

Where it looks

• Inside the platform — creatives with listed portfolios here, matched on meaning rather than exact keywords.
• On the open web — publicly available profiles and pages, read and assessed for fit. These results are marked as found on the web.

How a run goes

1. You describe who you need.
2. If the brief is ambiguous, you may be asked a clarifying question — answering it markedly improves the results. If the question takes too long to load, the search carries on without it.
3. The search runs and candidates are gathered.
4. Each is assessed against your brief and the weak ones are dropped.
5. You get a shortlist with reasoning for each person.

Looking for work yourself

Talent Finder finds people to hire. If a brief reads as you looking for a job for yourself, it does not start and no pens are taken. Your own job search runs in Job Finder on the creative Dashboard. If you do not have Artist access yet, switch it on from the access page — Job Finder comes with it.

Rating results

Give a result a thumbs-up for a Good match, or a thumbs-down and pick what was wrong: wrong discipline, wrong location, low quality, duplicate, or something else. Saving a web result to your Talent Database counts as a good match too. See the article on rating answers and results.

Cost and refunds

A run draws on your pen balance; the cost is shown before you start. If a run returns nothing at all, the pens come back automatically. A thumbs-down with a specific note can refund the run — see the article on refunds.

Unexpected connections

The finder is not only for filling a specific brief. Widening your circle is the point: a photographer who turns out to be right for a tour campaign, a booker who becomes a long-term collaborator. It is worth running a broader search occasionally, not just a precise one.

Judgement stays with you

Rankings are a starting point. Read the profiles and decide for yourself — especially for people whose careers do not follow a standard shape.
